Pregnant And Burned Out? Let’s Talk Soy Candles!
Growing a human is hard. Growing a human while stuck in a 10 a.m. Teams call titled “Q2 Synergy Alignment” is borderline Olympic-level.
Enter soy candles, your desk-friendly, hormone-respecting, mood-lifting little flame of sanity.
But wait... are soy candles safe during pregnancy? And what about essential oils, fancy fragrances or that mysterious "crackling wooden wick" sound that may or may not trigger a craving for roasted marshmallows?
Let’s unpack it.
✅ Soy Candles & Pregnancy: A Gentle Flame
Soy candles, the unsung heroes of wellness, are made from soy wax, which is derived from soybeans. This makes them a cleaner, non-toxic alternative to paraffin wax (the kind found in cheaper candles that smoke like a printer meltdown).
During pregnancy, avoiding harsh chemicals and synthetic fragrances becomes top priority. And soy candles, when made with:
100% soy wax
Cotton or wood wicks (lead-free, always)
Essential oils that are pregnancy-safe
…can offer a relaxing experience without the drama.
🚫 What to Watch Out For
Here is what to avoid if you are candle-shopping for your bump:
Phthalates – sneaky chemicals often hidden in synthetic fragrances
Lead-core wicks – rare, but still around in some discount brands
Strong synthetic scents – they can cause headaches or nausea, especially with first trimester super-smell powers
Always read the label. If it sounds like a chemistry exam, maybe don’t light it near your baby bump.
🕯️ The Scent of Burnout Views
Our candles are made from 100% soy wax, hand-poured in London, and topped with cheeky labels like:
“Light Me When Your Baby Shower Becomes a Project Plan”
“Infused with Calm and Literally Nothing Else”
“Maternity Leave Manifestation Candle”
Are we OB-GYNs? No. But we are corporate escape artists and we know a thing or two about needing calm that actually works.
We don’t currently sell candles on the site (they’re too beautiful to launch without the perfect glam shoot), but you can:
👉 Join one of our workshops and make your own
👉 Gift a session to a stressed-out colleague or glowing mama-to-be
🧘♀️ Self-Care is Not a Luxury
Pregnancy is a full-time job. If you are also doing another full-time job, you deserve a moment of peace and maybe a candle that doesn’t make you question what you are inhaling.
Because you can be pregnant, burned out and still smell fabulous. Even if you cry over a biscuit. We have all been there.
