Speak Up Without the Panic: The Glow & Grow Workshop
If you knew me during my time at HSBC or as a Business Analyst at Form3, you know I love to talk about anything and everything. Discussing with seven engineering teams every week and leading our informal Friday BA calls with wit and joy was my absolute favourite part of the job.
Public speaking is a pleasure for me. But I will be the first to admit: those first few minutes before you connect with the room? Even for the confident ones, the initial jitters are real. I do feel a bit of shaking in my hands or even in my voice until I finally engage with the audience.
If it is like that for me, I know how heavy that pressure can feel for the quiet achievers and high-performing professionals who do not naturally want to be the loudest person in the room.
When people want to work on their confidence, the standard corporate advice is usually to sign up for an aggressive, spotlight-heavy public speaking course. But if you are already coming off a packed week of metrics and meetings, the absolute last thing your brain needs is to be forced onto a stage to be critiqued by a room full of strangers. That does not build real confidence, it just adds to the stress.
That is exactly why Emily Lee and I created this event for you.
As you can see from the photo of us in my studio conservatory, we do not take ourselves too seriously. I am pretty sure I said something quite funny just a second before the camera clicked, because we were both absolutely cracking up. That is exactly the kind of relaxed, light-hearted energy we want to share with you.
We are hosting this intimate workshop called Glow & Grow next week on Friday 26th June. We only have a few selected seats per session because we want this to feel like a cosy, relaxed retreat, not an intense corporate seminar. We are bringing together two things that create the perfect balance: the slow, calming craft of candle making and Emily’s gentle, practical communication tools.
We are spending the first half of the three hours relaxing our minds, working with our hands, and pouring custom aromatherapy soy candles in my London studio. Working with your hands like this is a natural, relaxing activity for a busy mind. In my workshop this past Wednesday, I watched participants' stress scores drop by over half in just two hours simply because they finally had a safe space to slow down and let the stress go.
Once everyone is relaxed, chatting and enjoying some fresh, healthy food, Emily Lee, the founder of Speaking Voices, is going to take over.
She is not going to force you to stand up and give a dramatic presentation. Instead, she is sharing her gentle, practical tools to help you manage nerves, steady your voice and command a room without needing to pretend to be an extrovert. You will get to practice sharing your ideas while sitting around a friendly table with people who totally get it.
At £125, it is a full 3-hour experience that covers all your premium candle-making supplies, a beautiful keepsake tin to take home, fresh platters of food, and real, practical skills you can use to share your brilliant ideas with ease on Monday. If the weather permits, we will even spend some time out in the garden and enjoy the London sunshine.
If you are ready to actually enjoy the way you present your ideas, come spend a morning or afternoon with us.
