Can Candle-Making Workshops Trigger Fire Alarms?

If you are thinking about booking a candle-making workshop for your office, chances are your facilities manager has already raised an eyebrow. “But won’t the sprinklers go off? What about the fire alarms?”

Fair question, but our workshops don’t involve open flames, smoke or anything remotely risky. In fact, the only thing we are lighting up is your team’s creativity.

No Flames, No Problem

We never use matches, lighters or burning candles during our sessions. Instead, we use professional-grade wax melters that gently heat soy wax to 80°C. To put that into perspective, that is actually cooler than a freshly boiled kettle for your afternoon tea.

And last time we checked, no one’s cuppa has ever set off the sprinklers.

Small, Safe and Spill-Proof

Each participant pours their creation into an 8oz container and that is less than a standard cup of tea. Once poured, the wax is mixed with fragrance at a safe 70°C, then poured at 60°C and left to harden naturally at room temperature. We promise, no flames and no alarms.

Why Facilities Teams Love Us

We know corporate venues take health and safety seriously (and rightly so). That is why we designed our workshops to be as safe as they are soothing. No smoke, no risk of triggering sensitive detectors and no surprises for the facilities team.

What this really means is: your colleagues can focus on unwinding, creating and laughing together while you stay confident everything is fully compliant.

If a cup of hot tea doesn’t set off your sprinklers, our candle-making workshops definitely won’t.
